When you're down and out When you're on the street When evening falls so hard I will comfort you I'll take your part, oh, when darkness comes And pain is all, is all around Just like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Just like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down Sail on silver girl Sail on by Your time has come to shine All of your dreams are on their way See how they shine Oh, if you ever need a friend Look around I'm sailing right behind Just like a bridge over troubled water I'll be there to lay me down Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down

Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone at home? Come on, now, I hear you're feeling down. Well I can ease your pain And get you on your feet again. Relax. I need some information first. Just the basic facts Can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain you are receding A distant ship, smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons. Now I've got that feeling once again I can't explain you would not understand This is not how I am. I have become comfortably numb. (solo) I have become comfortably numb. O. K. Just a little pin prick. There'll be no more AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! But you may feel a little sick. Can you stand up? I do believe its working. Good. That'll keep you going through the show Come on it's time to go. There is no pain you are receding A distant ship, smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying. When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse Out of the corner of my eye I turned to look but it was gone I cannot put my finger on it now The child is grown, The dream is gone. I have become comfortably numb.

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim I had to stop for the night There she stood in the doorway; I heard the mission bell And I was thinking to myself, ’this could be heaven or this could be hell’ Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say... Welcome to the hotel California Such a lovely place Such a lovely face Plenty of room at the hotel California Any time of year, you can find it here Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat. Some dance to remember, some dance to forget So I called up the captain, ’please bring me my wine’ He said, ’we haven’t had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine’ And still those voices are calling from far away, Wake you up in the middle of the night Just to hear them say... Welcome to the hotel California Such a lovely place Such a lovely face They livin’ it up at the hotel California What a nice surprise, bring your alibis Mirrors on the ceiling, The pink champagne on ice And she said ’we are all just prisoners here, of our own device’ And in the master’s chambers, They gathered for the feast The stab it with their steely knives, But they just can’t kill the beast Last thing I remember, I was Running for the door I had to find the passage back To the place I was before ’relax,’ said the night man, We are programmed to receive. You can checkout any time you like, But you can never leave!

Levon wears his war wound like a crown He calls his child Jesus 'Cause he likes the name And he sends him to the finest school in town Levon, Levon likes his money "He makes a lot", they say Spends his days countin' In a garage by the motorway He was born a pauper to a pawn on a Christmas day When the New York times said, "God is dead" And the war's begun Alvin Tostig has a son today And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man And he shall be Levon In tradition with the family plan And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man He shall be Levon Levon sells cartoon balloons in town His family business thrives Jesus blows up balloons all day Sits on the porch swing watchin' them fly And Jesus, he wants to go to Venus Leaving Levon far behind Take a balloon and go sailin' While Levon, Levon slowly dies He was born a pauper to a pawn on a Christmas day When the New York times said, "God is dead" And the war's begun Alvin Tostig has a son today And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man And he shall be Levon In tradition with the family plan And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man He shall be Levon And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man And he shall be Levon In tradition with the family plan And he shall be Levon And he shall be a good man He shall be Levon

In the shuffling madness of the locomotive breath Runs the all time loser, head long to his death He feels the piston scraping, steam breaking on his brow Old Charlie stole the handle and the train It won't stop going, no way to slow down He sees his children jumpin' off at stations, one by one His woman and his best friend in bed and havin' fun Oh, he's crawling down the corridor on his hands and knees Old Charlie stole the handle and the train It won't stop going, no way to slow down Hey, hey, [Incomprehensible], ooh Charlie, Charlie, Charlie He hears the silence howling, catches angels as they fall And the all time winner, has got him by the balls Oh, he picks up Gideons Bible, open at page one But, God, he stole the handle and the train It won't stop going, no way to slow down No way to slow down, no way to slow down No way to slow down, no way to slow down, yeah Charlie stole the handle, no way to slow down No way to slow down, Charlie stole the handle

Life is bigger It's bigger than you And you are not me The lengths that I will go to The distance in your eyes Oh no I've said too much I set it up That's me in the corner That's me in the spotlight Losing my religion Trying to keep up with you And I don't know if I can do it Oh no I've said too much I haven't said enough I thought that I heard you laughing I thought that I heard you sing I think I thought I saw you try Every whisper Of every waking hour I'm Choosing my confessions Trying to keep an eye on you Like a hurt lost and blinded fool Oh no I've said too much I set it up Consider this The hint of the century Consider this The slip that brought me To my knees failed What if all these fantasies Come flailing around Now I've said too much I thought that I heard you laughing I thought that I heard you sing I think I thought I saw you try But that was just a dream That was just a dream

I looked out this morning and the sun was gone Turned on some music to start my day I lost myself in a familiar song I closed my eyes and I slipped away It's more than a feeling (more than a feeling) When I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling) And I begin dreaming (more than a feeling) Till I see Marianne walk away I see my Marianne walkin' away So many people have come and gone Their faces fade as the years go by Yet I still recall as I wander on As clear as the sun in the summer sky It's more than a feeling (more than a feeling) When I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling) And I begin dreaming (more than a feeling) Till I see Marianne walk away I see my Marianne walkin' away When I'm tired and thinking cold I hide in my music, forget the day And dream of a girl I used to know I closed my eyes and she slipped away She slipped away It's more than a feeling (more than a feeling) When I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling) And I begin dreaming (more than a feeling) Till I see Marianne walk away

Lying beside you Here in the dark Feeling your heartbeat with mine Softly you whisper You're so sincere How could our love be so blind We sailed on together We drifted apart And here you are By my side So now I come to you With open arms Nothing to hide Believe what I say So here I am With open arms Hoping you'll see What your love means to me Open arms Living without you Living alone This empty house seems so cold Wanting to hold you Wanting you near How much I wanted you home But now that you've come back Turned night into day I need you to stay So now I come to you With open arms Nothing to hide Believe what I say So here I am With open arms Hoping you'll see What your love means to me Open arms

Load up on guns, bring your friends It's fun to lose and to pretend She's over bored and self assured Oh no, I know a dirty word Hello, hello, hello, how low? [x3] Hello, hello, hello! With the lights out, it's less dangerous Here we are now, entertain us I feel stupid and contagious Here we are now, entertain us A mulatto An albino A mosquito My libido Yeah, hey, yay And I forget just why I taste Oh yeah, I guess it makes me smile I found it hard, it's hard to find Oh well, whatever, never mind Hello, hello, hello, how low? [x3] Hello, hello, hello! With the lights out, it's less dangerous Here we are now, entertain us I feel stupid and contagious Here we are now, entertain us A mulatto An albino A mosquito My libido A denial! [x9]

I stole a ride on a passing star Not knowing where I was going How near or how far Through years of light, lands of future and past Until the heavenly gates Were sighted at last Starrider, rider, rider Take me to the stars Starrider, rider, rider Show me where you are Northern lights flashed by And then they were gone And as old stars would die So the new ones were born And ever on I sailed Celestial ways And in the light of my years Shone the rest of my days Speed increasing All control is in the hands of those who know Will they help us grow To one day be starriders Starrider, rider, rider Show me where you are Starrider, rider, rider Take me to the stars Speed increasing All control is in the hands of those who know Will they help us grow To one day be starriders

Watching and waiting For a friend to play with Why have I been alone so long Mole he is burrowing his way to the sunlight He knows there's some there so strong Cos here there's lot of room for doing The thing you've always been denied Look and gather all you want to There's no one here to stop you trying Soon you will see me Cos I'll be all around you But where I come from I can't tell But don't be alarmed by my fields and my forests They're here for only you to share Cos here there's lot of room for doing The things you've always been denied So look and gather all you want to There's no one here to stop you trying Watching and waiting For someone to understand me I hope it won't be very long

Someone and someone were down by the pond Looking for something to plant in the lawn. Out in the fields they were turning the soil I'm sitting here hoping this water will boil When I look through the windows and out on the road They're bringing me presents and saying hello. Singing words, words between the lines of age. Words, words between the lines of age. If I was a junkman selling you cars, Washing your windows and shining your stars, Thinking your mind was my own in a dream What would you wonder and how would it seem? Living in castles a bit at a time The King started laughing and talking in rhyme. Singing words, words between the lines of age. Words, words between the lines of age.

about

Michael William Andersen Los Angeles, California

There was a Professional Rock Band in San Francisco in the Seventies. I had met Larry Hanson in about 1973 in Salt Lake City and he showed me how to play Rock Music. I thought I heard him on the radio with Styx after coming home from his house one day. I bought decent equipment in 2003 and made these recordings because the UofU demanded pay. They have called me Totally Permanently Disabled. ... more
