We skipped the light fandango turned cartwheels 'cross the floor I was feeling kinda seasick but the crowd called out for more The room was humming harder as the ceiling flew away When we called out for another drink the waiter brought a tray And so it was that later as the miller told his tale that her face, at first just ghostly, turned a whiter shade of pale She said, 'There is no reason and the truth is plain to see.' But I wandered through my playing cards and would not let her be one of sixteen vestal virgins who were leaving for the coast and although my eyes were open they might have just as well've been closed She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,' though in truth we were at sea so I took her by the looking glass and forced her to agree saying, 'You must be the mermaid who took Neptune for a ride.' But she smiled at me so sadly that my anger straightway died If music be the food of love [see note, left, about this verse its opening] then laughter is its queen and likewise if behind is in front then dirt in truth is clean My mouth by then like cardboard seemed to slip straight through my head So we crash-dived straightway quickly and attacked the ocean bed

Out here in the fields, I fight for my meals I get my back into my living I don't need to fight to prove I'm right I don't need to be forgiven Don't cry, don't raise your eye It's only teenage wasteland Sally, take my hand, travel south crossland Put out the fire don't look past my shoulder The exodus is here, the happy ones are near Let's get together before we get much older Teenage wasteland, it's only teenage wasteland Teenage wasteland, oh, oh Teenage wasteland, they're all wasted

No one knows what it's like To be the bad man To be the sad man Behind blue eyes No one knows what it's like To be hated To be fated To telling only lies But my dreams they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance that's never free No one knows what it's like To feel these feelings Like I do And I blame you No one bites back as hard On their anger None of my pain and woe Can show through But my dreams, they aren't as empty As my conscience seems to be I have hours, only lonely My love is vengeance that's never free When my fist clenches, crack it open Before I use it and lose my cool When I smile, tell me some bad news Before I laugh and act like a fool And if I swallow anything evil Put your finger down my throat And if I shiver, please give me a blanket Keep me warm, let me wear your coat No one knows what it's like To be the sad man To be the bad man Behind blue eyes

I feel unhappy I feel so sad I lost the best friend That I ever had She was my woman I loved her so But it's too late now I've let her go I'm going through changes I'm going through changes We shared the years We shared each day In love together We found a way But soon the world Had its evil way My heart was blinded Love went astray I'm going through changes I'm going through changes It took so long To realize And I can still hear Her last goodbyes Now all my days Are filled with tears Wish I could go back And change these years I'm going through changes I'm going through changes

Sweet surrender on the quayside You remember we used to run and hide In the shadow of the cargoes I take you one time And we're counting all the numbers down to the waterline Near misses on the dog leap stairways French kisses in the darkened doorways A foghorn blowing out wild and cold A policeman shines a light upon my shoulder Up comes a coaster fast and silent in the night Over my shoulder all you can see are the pilot lights No money in our jackets and our jeans are torn Your hands are cold but your lips are warm She can see him on the jetty where they used to go She can feel him in the places where the sailors go When she's walking by the river and the railway line She can still hear him whisper Let's go down to the waterline

The roses in the window box Have tilted to one side Everything about this house Was born to grow and die Oh it doesn't seem a year ago To this very day You said I'm sorry honey If I don't change the pace I can't face another day And love lies bleeding in my hand Oh it kills me to think of you with another man I was playing rock and roll and you were just a fan But my guitar couldn't hold you So I split the band Love lies bleeding in my hands I wonder if those changes Have left a scar on you Like all the burning hoops of fire That you and I passed through You're a bluebird on a telegraph line I hope you're happy now Well if the wind of change comes down your way girl You'll make it back somehow

I, I will be king And you, you will be queen Though nothing will drive them away We can beat them, just for one day We can be Heroes, just for one day And you, you can be mean And I, I'll drink all the time 'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact Yes we're lovers, and that is that Though nothing, will keep us together We could steal time, just for one day We can be Heroes, for ever and ever What d'you say? I, I wish you could swim Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim Though nothing, nothing will keep us together We can beat them, for ever and ever Oh we can be Heroes, just for one day I, I will be king And you, you will be queen Though nothing will drive them away We can be Heroes, just for one day We can be us, just for one day I, I can remember (I remember) Standing, by the wall (by the wall) And the guns shot above our heads (over our heads) And we kissed, as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall) And the shame was on the other side Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever Then we could be Heroes, just for one day We can be Heroes We can be Heroes We can be Heroes Just for one day We can be Heroes We're nothing, and nothing will help us Maybe we're lying, then you better not stay But we could be safer, just for one day Oh-oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-oh-ohh, just for one day

Has he lost his mind? Can he see or is he blind? Can he walk at all, Or if he moves will he fall? Is he alive or dead? Has he thoughts within his head? We'll just pass him there why should we even care? He was turned to steel in the great magnetic field Where he travelled time for the future of mankind Nobody wants him He just stares at the world Planning his vengeance that he will soon unfold Now the time is here for Iron Man to spread fear Vengeance from the grave Kills the people he once saved Nobody wants him They just turn their heads Nobody helps him Now he has his revenge Heavy boots of lead fills his victims full of dread Running as fast as they can Iron Man lives again!

Los Angelenos All come from somewhere To live in sunshine Their funky exile Midwestern ladies High-heeled and faded Drivin' sleek new sports cars With their New York cowboys Hiding up in the mountains Laying low in the canyons Goin' nowhere on the streets With their Spanish names Makin' love with the natives In their Hollywood places Making up for all the time gone by Los Angelenos All come from somewhere Cuz it's all so easy To become acquainted Electric babies Blue-jeaned and jaded Such hot sweet schoolgirls So educated Tanning out in the beaches With their Mexican reefers No one ever has to feel Like a refugee Going into garages For exotic massages Making up for all the time gone by Hiding up in the mountains Laying low in the canyons Goin' nowhere on the streets With the Spanish names Makin' love with the natives In their Hollywood places Making up for all the time gone by Los Angelenos All come from somewhere It's so familiar Their foreign faces

Hey, yeah. Here come the jesters, one, two, three. It's all part of my fantasy, I love the music and I love to see the crowd, Dancing in the aisles and singing out loud, yeah. Here come the dancers one by one, Your mamas calling but you're having fun You'll find you're dancing on a number nine cloud Put your hands together and sing it out loud Its all part of my rock 'n' roll fantasy, yeah. Its all part of my rock 'n' roll dream, yeah. It's all part of my rock 'n' roll fantasy. It's all part of my rock 'n' roll dream. Put out the spot lights one and all And let the feeling get down to your soul The music's so loud you can here the sound Reaching for the sky churning up the ground It's all part of my rock 'n' roll fantasy. Its all part of my rock 'n' roll dream, oh, yeah. It's all part of my rock 'n' roll fantasy. Its all part of my rock 'n' roll dream, yeah, yeah. Fantasy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Fantasy, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

In the beginning I believed every word that you said Now that you're gone My world is in shreds Oh you loved me and left me You took all the things that I needed so bad I'm standing here wondering Where is the love that I had CHORUS: Give me silver, blue and gold The color of the sky I'm told My rainbow is overdue In the beginning There was something of love that was mine Now that it's gone Whoa I'm crying Oh the time that it takes for a love to grow cold Is a wonder to me I'm walking around with my head hanging down Tell me where is she CHORUS Don't forsake me 'cause I love you (2x) CHORUS (2x) Now give me silver, blue and gold The color of the sky I'm told My rainbow is overdue, yeah Oh don't forsake me 'cause I love you Don't forsake me 'cause I love you

You get a shiver in the dark It's a rainin' in the park, but meantime South of the river you stop and you hold everything A band is blowin' Dixie double four time You feel alright when you hear the music ring... And now you step inside but you don't see too many faces Comin' in out of the rain to hear the jazz go down Competition in other places... Oh but the horns they blowin' that sound Way on down south, way on down south London town You check out Guitar George, he knows all the chords But he's strictly rhythm he doesn't wanna make it cry or sing They've said an old guitar is all he can afford When he gets up under the lights to play his thing And Harry doesn't mind, if he doesn't make the scene He's got a daytime job, he's doin' alright

I come from down in the valley Where mister when you're young They bring you up to do like your daddy done Me and Mary we met in high school When she was just seventeen We'd ride out of this valley down to where the fields were green We'd go down to the river And into the river we'd dive Oh down to the river we'd ride Then I got Mary pregnant And man that was all she wrote And for my nineteenth birthday I got a union card and a wedding coat We went down to the courthouse And the judge put it all to rest No wedding day smiles no walk down the aisle No flowers no wedding dress That night we went down to the river And into the river we'd dive Oh down to the river we did ride, yeah yeah I got a job working construction for the Johnstown Company But lately there ain't been much work on account of the economy Now all them things that seemed so important Well Mister they vanished right into the air Now I just act like I don't remember Mary acts like she don't care But I remember us riding in my brother's car Her body tan and wet down at the reservoir At night on them banks I'd lie awake And pull her close just to feel each breath she'd take Now those memories come back to haunt me They haunt me like a curse Is a dream a lie if it don't come true Or is it something worse That sends me down to the river Though I know the river is dry That sends me down to the river tonight, yeah Down to the river My baby and I Oh down to the river we ride, oh Ooh ooh, ooh ooh Ooh ooh, ooh ooh

So long, I've been looking too hard, I've waiting too long Sometimes I don't know what I will find I only know it's a matter of time When you love someone...When you love someone... It feels so right, so warm and true, I need to know if you feel it too (Aaah-aaah) maybe I'm wrong (Aaah-aaah) won't you tell me if I'm coming on too strong? (Aaah-aaah) this heart of mine has been hurt before (Aaah-aaah) this time I wanna be sure I've been waiting, for a girl like you (Ooh-ooh-ooh) to come into my life (life) I've been waiting, for a girl like you (Waiting for a girl) and a love that will survive I've been waiting (I've been waiting) for someone new (New) To make me feel alive, ah-ah Yeah, waiting for a girl like you (waiting for a girl) to come into my life (Aaah-aaah...Aaah-aaah...) You're so good, when we make love it's understood It's more than a touch or a word we say Only in dreams could it be this way When you love someone...Yeah, really love someone... (Aaah-aaah) now I know it's right (Aaah-aaah) from the moment I wake up till deep in the night (Aaah-aaah) there's no where on earth that I'd rather be (Aaah-aaah) than holding you, tenderly I've been waiting, for a girl like you (Ooh-ooh-ooh) To come into my life (life) I've been waiting, for a girl like you (Waiting for a girl) and a love that will survive I've been waiting (I've been waiting) for someone new (New) To make me feel alive, ah-ah Yeah, waiting (waiting) for a girl like you (Waiting for a girl) to come into my life Oooh-oooh, oooh-oooh, I've been waiting Aaah-aaah, (waiting for you) oooh-oooh, oooh (Aaah-aaah) oooh-oooh, I've been waiting (Waiting) I've been waiting, yeah I've been waiting for a girl like you, I've been waiting Won't you come into my life? (Life?) My life? (It's been so long) I've been waiting for a girl like you I've been waiting, (I've been waiting) oh-oh

about

Michael William Andersen Los Angeles, California

There was a Professional Rock Band in San Francisco in the Seventies. I had met Larry Hanson in about 1973 in Salt Lake City and he showed me how to play Rock Music. I thought I heard him on the radio with Styx after coming home from his house one day. I bought decent equipment in 2003 and made these recordings because the UofU demanded pay. They have called me Totally Permanently Disabled. ... more
